Fairly common in coniferous, hardwood, and mixed-forest habitats of Island, Kitsap, and King Counties, becoming much less common at higher elevations of Cascades. Locally fairly common in forested habitats of western Kittitas County. Predicted range eastward from Blewett Pass to Colockum Pass mapped by Washington Gap report (Smith et al. 1997) not supported by BBA records.
