Fairly common in low- and mid-elevation forested landscapes of Westside counties, including residential areas and city parks with suitable stands of large coniferous trees. Will forage in nearby agricultural areas. Occurs casually up to lower Cascade passes and in wet forests east of crest, but breeding not confirmed there.
